The Lakas ng Bayan 2G or Laban 2 G - Second Generation - was recently founded to attract and identify the youth and adults who can be developed into TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERS to utimately take over from traditional politicians the leadership in the Philippines. To acheve this aim, the International Academy of Management and Economics (IAME-Makati City) will establish and operate the IAME School of Political Education, Leadership and Governance.

Historically, the original Lakas ng Bayan/Laban of 1978 was founded by Ninoy Aquino with Noli Santos and 19 other freedom fighters. It is remembered for the Noise Barrage of April 6, 1978, the eve of the Interim Batasan election when the whole Metro Manila was rocked by tremendous noise barrage of the people. Ninoy Aquno from his Fort Bonifacio prison instructed Noli Santos through a handwritten message hand carried by Soc Rodrigo to Noli Santos to  announce the holding of Noise Barrage starting 6:00 p.m. of April 6, 1978. Noli Santos announced it for one week with the use of four loudspeakers on top of his car and covered almost every street and barangay of the cities and municipalities of  Metro Manila.
